Creative wellbeing at your own pace

Creative wellbeing is about giving yourself time to slow down, switch off from everyday pressures and enjoy being creative.

This might involve trying something new, working on something you already enjoy, or just connecting with others.

Our group artmaking sessions are a space with no pressure. A chance to relax and take some time for yourself.

Are these sessions for me?

Our sessions are designed with people living with chronic pain, disabilities, and long-term health conditions in mind.

We understand how living with chronic health conditions can make life feel harder than it should. Everyday life can sometimes feel like a battle, with fatigue, brain fog, pain and all the challenges that are thrown our way leave us with less energy for ourselves effecting our mood and motivation.

A concept created in 2003 by Christine Miserando called 'The spoon theory' highlights how having chronic pain can result in having to manage 'spoons' wisely to preserve energy. You can read more here:

Putting our needs first is often the last thing we have time for, we often put our own mental health and self-care at the bottom of our to-do list.

Our wellbeing sessions are an opportunity to address what is important to you and how you can keep moving forward.

What is "creative wellbeing?"

Well, simply put, it’s about using creativity to support your mental health and wellbeing.

We offer creative sessions in local community venues where people can explore artmaking, activities, crafts and techniques that help you to slow down, have some you time and talk with others who understand.

These are themed sessions relating to managing and living with disabilities and chronic health conditions and will also provide access to other support and resources tailored to you and your needs.

Some of these sessions will be related to topics such as pain management, pacing, meditation or more general self-care such as signposting to gentle seated exercise groups, holistic health services and more specialised support groups in the local area.
